Illict timber siezed in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, May 22 : Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday claimed to have recovered large quantity of illicit timber in the district.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that acting on the specific information about a huge quantity of illicit green timber being smuggled ,on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Suhail Munawar, a team of Police Station Kangan led by SHO Police Station Kangan, Inspector Turk Zahoor Khan under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan, Syed Yasir Qadri – JKPS raided the particular spot during the intervening night of 21/22 May and seized large cache of illicit green timber from the possession of one Mohammad Rafiq Bajard S/O Gh Hassan R/O Village Laman, Baba Nagri Kangan.

In this regard Case FIR No. 44/2021, U/S 379 / IPC, 26 / IF ACT has been registered in Police Station Kangan and accused person arrested.Further investigation is going on.
