Srinagar, August 30 :Secretary Avny Lavasa on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the PMD Complex, Bemina. She was accompanied by General Manager, JKRTC and Works Manager, PMD Workshop.
In a handout, a spokesman said that during the visit, the Secretary reviewed the functioning of the PMD Workshop, Bemina, which provides critical maintenance support to district and city bus operations.
She inspected the JKRTC workshop facilities and laid emphasis on minimizing bus detention so that a greater number of vehicles can be made available on the roads to serve the public efficiently.
The Secretary further underlined the importance of strengthening public transport connectivity within the city as well as across districts, directing the officials to ensure that dependable bus services reach every nook and corner of the valley to meet the needs of the general commuters, reads the statement.
