Imran Khan to no more target PM Modi, both countries to refrain from ‘harsh’ rhetoric: Report

Date:

Days after agreeing to ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan and India have now decided to refrain from harsh rhetoric to reduce tensions.

According to a report by Pakistani news channel quoting a government official, the two neighbors have decided to refrain from harsh rhetoric to reduce tensions as ‘both the countries want a better and happier environment for further action.’

Despite India expressing reservations on various occasions on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, targeting his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and likening him to Hitler, the two countries insisted on “silent diplomacy” which resulted in creating a pleasant atmosphere on the LoC and easing tensions. It turned out to be an agreement.

Adding that Pakistan premier will no more target Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speeches or tweet.

According to the report, “The move is part of efforts to create better environment for further steps.”

The last time, Khan issued a critical statement against PM Modi was on 17 January. After that, he started avoiding personal attacks on PM Modi both in his tweets and statements.

This the report noted happened after a request by India.
