India, Pakistan armies exchange gunfire along LoC in  Poonch

Jammu, Jan 08 : The armies of India and Pakistan Tuesday exchanged heavy gunfire and mortar shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports quoting defence sources said that Pakistani troops allegedly started unprovoked firing and shelling targetting Indian posts in Gulpur sector around 5 am.

They said that the India troops retaliated and the intermittent exchange of fire continued when reports last came in.
