New Delhi, 19 August:- Reaffirming Bharat’s steadfast commitment to strengthening international maritime cooperation and advancing collective efforts towards safer, cleaner and more secure seas, Bharat will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in New Delhi in February 2027, coinciding with the Swarnim Jayanti of Bharatiya Tatrakshak.
As part of the preparatory engagements for the landmark Summit,Bharatiya Tatrakshak hosted the Working Level Meeting (WLM) of the 5th CGGS in hybrid mode, bringing together representatives of Coast Guards and maritime agencies, alongside international and regional maritime organisations.
The meeting provided an important forum for advancing institutional preparations for the 5th CGGS and for fostering dialogue among participating maritime agencies.
The deliberations covered key institutional and organisational aspects of the forthcoming Summit, including refinement of the CGGS Meeting Guidelines, strengthening of the Information Sharing Mechanism, and further development and management of the CGGS website. Discussions also focused on avenues to enhance collective capability building through greater exchange of professional expertise, operational experience and best practices, besides progressing the proposed Activity Calendar for future collaborative engagements.
The 5th CGGS will also serve as a significant manifestation of Bharat’s MAHASAGAR vision and its enduring commitment to a collaborative and forward-looking maritime order. Through sustained engagement and collective endeavour, Bharat remains committed to contributing to international efforts for the safety, security and well-being of the global maritime commons.
