On Wednesday, the Indian Army conducted a momentous commemoration ceremony in Boniyar Tehsil, Baramulla District, to mark the 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The event celebrated India’s resounding victory in the Kargil War, honouring the indomitable spirit and sacrifice of the brave soldiers who fought valiantly for the nation’s honor.
The ceremony, held at the revered Pir Panjal Brigade War Memorial, saw Brigadier PMS Dhillon, Commander of the Pir Panjal Brigade, paying homage to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the memorial. This symbolized the nation’s eternal gratitude and remembrance for their supreme sacrifice.
The Indian Army took the opportunity to felicitate Veer Naris, war veterans and Ex-Servicemen for their unwavering dedication and selfless service to the motherland. Their exemplary contributions inspire the entire nation, reflecting the resilience and commitment of our armed forces.
Kargil Vijay Diwas holds immense significance as it stands as a testament to the unyielding valor displayed by our armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. It is a day to honour the brave sons and daughters of India who selflessly defended our borders, upholding courage, patriotism, and sacrifice.
A cultural program presented by students of BRSAGS, Boniyar, also paid tribute to the occasion, raising awareness among the youth about the Indian Army’s sacrifice to protect the national boundary and its people.
