Indian Army Conducts Porter Recruitment Rally to Address Unemployment in Gurez Valley

Bandipora May 09:- Indian Army’s commendable step to address the issue of unemployment in the border area of Gurez Valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. To provide employment opportunities to the youth in the region, the Army conducted a porter recruitment rally in Gurez Bandipora.

Speaking with the Kashmir Despatch on phone call, Aarif a local resident of Bagtore village of Gurez said that we are thankful to the Indian Army for conducting a recruitment rally for locals every year this helps local youths to earn their livelihood in the region.

The recruitment rally will be on two days in which Physical and medical tests of candidates will be conducted that will fill 600 vacancies for the period of six months in the Gurez valley. The recruitment rally was held with the aim of providing employment opportunities to the youth in the area.

“We were very thankful to the Army for this recruitment rally as we did not have many employment opportunities in our valley, i had passed B.A in 2018 but due to the less employment opportunities we mostly peoples of border residents remain unaware about various opportunities,” Salim Mohi-ud-din one of the young man said.

Locals believe that the initiative will not only provide employment opportunities to the youth in the area but will also contribute to the development and progress of the region. It is expected that such initiatives will continue in the future, bringing positive changes to the lives of people in the border areas.
