Indo-Pak armies trade gunfire along LoC in Boniyar

Srinagar, June 14 : The armies of India and Pakistan on Sunday exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Boniyar sector of Uri  in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Officials told Kashmir Despatch that on Sunday morning at around 9 : 00 AM, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing along Boniyar sector of Uri which was retaliating befittingly.

An army official also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch and said Pak shelling was retailated effectively, he said no loss of life or Injury was reported in the shelling.

The exchange of fire between both the sides was going on when the report was last filed.

Pertinently, A woman was killed and two others were injured in Hajipeer sector of Uri on Friday when both neighbours exchanged gunfire.

Keeping in view the overall situation and the safety of human lives, SDM evacuated about 18 families belonging to silkot and other adjoining villages to safer places on Friday.
