Indo-Pak armies trade gunfire along LOC in Kupwara

SRINAGAR,July 28 : Armies of India and Pakistan on Tuesday evening exchanged gunfire along the line of control (LOC) in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceaefire along LOC at Wahabdar post in Machil sector of Kupwara on Tuesday evening. The fire was retailated effectively by this side of army.

In the cross border shelling no loss of life or any Injury was reported official added.

A police officer also confirmed this cross border shelling to Kashmir Despatch.

Pertinently, earlier in the day army claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Kupwara.

 Defense sources told Kashmir Despatch that alert troops challenged a group of militants in the Kuladhi area of Keran sector around 4 PM and forced them to return back.
