Srinagar, Dec 01: The Inspector General of Border Security Forces (BSF), Kashmir Frontier Ashok Yadav, on Monday said that the infiltration attempts across Line of Control have significantly reduced following Operation Sindoor.
Addressing media at BSF Frontier Headquarters in Humhama on the 61st Foundation Day of the force, Yadav said only four infiltration attempts were reported in 2025 so far. “Before Operation Sindoor there were two attempts and two after it. A total of eight terrorists were neutralized by the Army and BSF this year,” he said.
Calling Operation Sindoor a “highly impactful and professional action,” Yadav said it was appreciated by the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister.
He added that intelligence inputs indicate Pakistan has shifted several launching pads deeper from the border after the operation.
The IG also flagged the rise of white-collar terror and narco-terror as major emerging challenges. “Radicalized educated youth joining terror networks silently is a big challenge. Narco-terrorism is being used to fund militancy and push Kashmir’s youth into drug addiction,” Yadav said.
On drone activity, he confirmed that surveillance drones remain active across the LoC but have not crossed into Indian territory.
He also said the BSF is strengthening anti-drone and drone warfare capabilities through new training infrastructure.
