Injured Shopian youth succumbs on way to Srinagar hospital

Shopian, Sep 28: A youth who was shot at in Nildoora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital on Monday evening.

A police officer told the news agency that the suspected militants fired upon Subzar Ahmad Naiko, son of Abdul Rashid Naikoo this evening.

Subzar, who was working in the RDD department, suffered serious bullet wounds and was shifted to district hospital for treatment from where he was referred to SMHS for advanced treatment.

However, the injured youth has succumbed to his injuries on the way to Srinagar hospital, he said.

Medical Superintendent SMHS, Dr Nazir Choudhary said that he was brought dead to the hospital.

Subzar had received bullet injuries in his abdomen and thigh, he added.

Pertinently, soon after he was attacked, a police officer said that security forces launched a hunt to nab the attackers.

Police in this regard has registered a case under FIR number 244/2020 under section 307,7/27 IPC 18,19,38,20 ULAP act in police station Shopian and said further investigation has been taken up—(KNO)
