Rajouri, October 03 : The Army said on Tuesday that intense operations are underway in the Kalakote area of Rajouri district to monitor terrorists.
An army official told Srinagar based news gathering agency Kashmir Scroll that specific intelligence about the movements of some unidentified individuals was received on October 1 by J&K Police after a successful operation on September 13.
He said a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police was launched in the area of Kalakote.
The officer said that the use of technology is being resorted to to monitor the terrorists.
He further added that, presently, intense operations are in progress.
On September 13, last month, two terrorists were killed in Rajouri district; however, in the operation, an army soldier also lost his life.
Pertinently, Rajouri and Poonch were considered free from militancy a few years ago but have been high on the terrorist radar in the last few months. (KS)
