Anantnag, Jan 21 : A young pacer from south Kashmir who has represented J&K at various stages have been called up for trails by Mumbai Indians, a team of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mujtaba Yousuf,19, a resident of Bijbehara town has been called up for trails after witnessing his impressive performance for J&K T20 team in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament.

While talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) from Mumbai on phone, Mujtaba said that he is very happy that he has been called up for trails.

“My trails are on Friday and I am hopeful that I will impress selectors with my bowling and will get an opportunity to become part of Mumbai Indians team this year and will become a regular player of the team with my performance,” he said.

“The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are very much talented but the infrastructure there as compared to other Indian states is zero. The government must take cognizance of the issue and develop sports infrastructure in J&K so that our talented youth can showcase their talent,” he said.

“I thank my parents and other family members besides Irfan Pathan and Parvaiz Rasool who always supported me, their guidance have helped me a lot in my carrier,” he said

Mujtaba played well in Mushtaq Ali tournament and took five wickets in four matches.
