Irfan Hafiz welcomed the decision by Union Ministry of Road Transport for sanctioning budget for 5 laning of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri highway

Sopore : District Development Council (DDC) member Irfan Hafiz Lone has welcomed the decision of the Union government for approving the budget for 4 laning of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri highway.

The construction of the 4-Lane Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri section of NH-01 has been sanctioned with a budget outlay of Rs. 823.45 Crore.

Talking with Kashmir Despatch he said that the decision by the Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has been lauded by people of north Kashmir and such steps strengthen the faith of democracy in people.

“Our efforts and the belief people have shown in the democratic process is yielding fruits. The people of Kashmir have utmost respect for democracy and they usher for a developed and prosperous Kashmir ahead,” Hafiz added.

Pertinently, The Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has sanctioned two road projects for Jammu and Kashmir with the budgetary allocation of Rs. 3397 Crores.

Development work of 4/6-Lane Access Control Expressway from Kunjwani to Sidhra Section of NH-44 and Domel to Katra Section has been sanctioned with a budget outlay of Rs. 2574.47 Crore. The construction of the 4-Lane SRINAGAR – BARAMULLA – URI section of NH-01 has been sanctioned with a budget outlay of Rs. 823.45 Crore
