Awantipora, Nov 24: IRP-23rd Battalion organized a Plantation Drive combined with a vibrant Cultural Event at Government Boys High School Barsoo. Awantipora under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).
Students, teaching staff, Forest Department employees, and other esteemed members from the local community participated in the event.
The initiative aimed to foster environmental awareness and promote cultural heritage among the youth and local residents. The plantation drive was spearheaded in collaboration with the Forest Department, highlighting the need to conserve the environment and inspiring the attendees to contribute actively towards building a greener future. Native saplings were planted in the school premises, with expert guidance provided to students and staff on sustainable plantation techniques and long-term care of trees.
The lively cultural event showcased the diverse talents of the students through various performances, including music, dance, and art displays. Participants who demonstrated exceptional skills and performances were felicitated with prizes to encourage continued engagement and development of their talents.
