IT Enabled Healthcare System with Infrastructure Upgradation Core Priority of Govt: Principal GMC B’la

Baramulla, October 25: Briefing about various interventions taken in health sector to improve the quality of different health care services, Principal Govt Medical College Baramulla Dr (Prof) Ruby Reshi today remarked that present dispensation at the central as well as at the regional level is very concern to upgrade the existing architecture of the healthcare system.

She added that IT enabled healthcare services with smart disease surveillance in the present circumstances, are the thrust areas where multi-sectoral approaches are being adopted with full vigor and enthusiasm.

The principal made these remarks on the sidelines of the event that was organised by the GMC Baramulla at Government Medical college Baramulla in connection with the inaugural ceremony of Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojana that was launched by the Prime Minister from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Functionaries of GMC Baramulla including HoDs, faculty members, medical doctors, paramedic among others showed their virtual participation in the inaugural ceremony.

Elaborating the yojana, the Principal said that PM-ASBY is the pan India scheme for Strengthening healthcare system across continuum of care to meet the challenges of present and future pandemics. She added that several associated components viz integrated public health labs in local health institutions, block public health units, AB- Health and Wellness Centres in urban areas among others, shall be given the Prime importance under the scheme.
