Hold protest, seek LG’s intervention
Srinagar, July 13: Scores of candidates selected for the posts of Junior Engineers on Wednesday protested against the delay in releasing the selection list of 209 posts by the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB).
The protesting candidates at Press Enclave alleged that they have been selected as JEs for Civil Engineers for the PWD and Jal Shakti Department against the posts advertised in December 2020. The written test was conducted by JKSSB in October 2021 and the result was declared on January 12, 2022. Accordingly, the document verification was done in February 2022.
The candidates said the selection list was also approved by the JKSSB in its 201st Board Meeting held on 23 April 2022 according to a press release issued by JKSSB. “Still the candidates are made to suffer by delaying the issuance of the final selection list. It has been six months since the result was declared and the candidates are continuously visiting the JKSSB office but no attention is being paid to their requests,” the protesting candidates alleged.
The posts were advertised under LG’s fast track recruitment directions in the year 2020, but since then almost 2 years have passed and the selection list is not public yet, they said.
The aspirants demand the board to release their selection list as soon as possible and ease the “trauma and fear they are in right now.”
“Our families are suffering psychologically and socially. Many aspirants have left their in-hand jobs, their degrees in various IITS and NITS to serve their own state”. We request our Lieutenant Governor to intervene in this matter,” they said.
The candidates said that many exams like JE Mechanical, Lab Attendant, Draftsman were held in CBT mode along with JE Civil, for which the lists have been published and the candidates have joined their respective departments. However, the JE civil candidates are suffering for unknown reasons.
