SRINAGAR, Dec 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government’s Finance department (Code Division) has given the nod to a new arrangement for doling out Dearness Allowance(DA) to its employees on Tuesday.
Expanding on the guidelines set forth in Government Order No. 93-F of 2023 on May 4, 2023, the government has mandated that employees falling under regular pay scales as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations will now receive DA in the range of 42% to 46% of the Revised Rate of DA per month, commencing from July 1, 2023.
Additionally, the order lays out the specifics of the disbursement process. Arrears for the extra installment of Dearness Allowance covering the period from July 2023 to November 2023 will be handed out in cash in December 2023.
Starting from December 2023, the revised Dearness Allowance will become an integral part of the monthly pension/family pension. Any fraction of Dearness Allowance equal to or surpassing 50 paisa will be rounded up to the next higher rupee, while fractions less than 50 paisa will be disregarded.
According to an order, the term “Basic Pay” in this context denotes the pay drawn in the specified level in the Pay Matrix according to the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, excluding other forms of pay such as special pay.
