Date:

Suhail Khan

Srinagar, July 30 : Parliament member and senior NC leader Mohammad Akbar Lone on Thursday said that no matter how much power India applies Jammu and Kashmir cant work as Union Territory, the region has to be a state.

As per Kashmir Despatch Lone said that there is no point in fighting an election if statehood, Article 370, and our special status is not restored.

“Once these important things are given and we will be asked to fight for election only then we will fight the election,”. he added.

He said Restoring statehood won’t do us any favor as Jammu and Kashmir deserve to state. “We deserve statehood, Our state was turned into Union Territory on August 5 which was quite unacceptable for all of us,”.

Senior NC leader further said they are ready to give resignation if centre government will restore a special position in J&K.
