J&K govt reconstitutes Wular Conservation and Management Authority

Srinagar, May 25 : Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday reconstituted the Wular Conservation and Management Authority (WUCMA) with Administrative Secretary Forest, Ecology and Environment Department as its chairperson.

According to an order, the Authority will consist of chairperson and 11 other members.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Jammu & Kashmir Developrnent Act. 1970 (Act No. XIV of 1970) and in supersession of notification S.O 63 dated 20th February, 2020. the Government hereby reconstitute the Wular Conservation and Management Authority for preservation and conservation of Wular Lake,” reads the order.

As per the order, the term of the office of the members shall be for a period of three years.
