J&K HC Issues Notice To Secy DIPR Over Operation of ‘Fake Journos, Portals

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh on Friday has issued a notice to the Secretary of the Department of Information & Public Relations, J&K, in response to a PIL filed by Dr. M Shuja, a journalist and General Secretary of the J&K Peoples’ Forum.

The PIL raises concerns about the operation of “fake journalists, portals, and unregistered social-media sites” in the region.

The court seeks the department’s position on this issue, with the next hearing scheduled for September 4, 2024.
