J&K Trade Promotion Organization organizes Export Awareness cum E-commerce Onboarding Drive in District Bandipora

Bandipora, 14th July,23: In an effort to promote and facilitate exports from District Bandipora, an Export Awareness Workshop cum E-commerce Onboarding event was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) under the aegis of Industries & Commerce Department. J&K.

The event was organized as per the directions of Sh. Vikramjit Singh Commissioner/Secretary Industries & Commerce, J&K and under the guidance of Managing Director, JKTPO in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora. This event brings together esteemed speakers and industry experts from Government of India and other renowned organizations, such as DGFT, APEDA, MYSTORE, ONDC, Walmart vriddhi, and FIEO. The workshop aims to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to local businesses looking to expand their operations in the global market.

The workshop witnessed participation of more than 100+ local artisans, weavers, farmers and entrepreneur out of which 20+ participants showed interest to have import/export code and to register on Ecommerce platforms like ONDC, Walmart Vriddhi etc. List of interested participants shared with Ecommerce players and DGFT for registration and onboarding. The detailed sessions were conducted by the experts on the benefits of exports, the process of getting an Import/Export code, endorsing local products to an international market, credit linkages for exports and credit risk insurance facilities AK Bhushan, Deputy DGFT, J&K, during his address, apprised the participants of the role of DGFT in international trade. He reflected upon the kind of documentation and procedures necessary for entering the international business/IEC registration and other related issues. Sh. Davinder Kumar Tyagi, Asst. Director MSME, J&K conveyed participants about various schemes/incentives/benefits offered by Ministry of MSME, Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) – FIEO, offered their expertise in market research, export documentation, and building strategic partnerships, empowering participants with comprehensive export knowledge.
The workshop is in continuation of the planned events to be held across the UT to promote exports from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir under the District as Export Hub Scheme/ODOP initiative.
