SRINAGAR, June 27: A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Accounts Employees Association (JKAEA) on Thursday met the Director General, Accounts & Treasuries (DGA&T), and submitted a formal copy of the resolution and dissolution passed by the former office bearers of the association. The resolution was adopted during a meeting of the association held on June 23, 2025.
During the meeting, the delegation formally introduced the newly constituted Advisory Body of the association, which has been tasked with managing the association’s affairs and laying the groundwork for holding elections in a free, fair, and transparent manner. The Advisory Body is being headed by Sh. G.N. Tantray, a senior and respected figure within the cadre.
The interaction between the JKAEA delegation and the DGA&T remained focused on cadre-centric concerns and efforts to foster greater unity among accounts personnel. The delegation emphasized the importance of resolving pressing issues faced by the cadre and sought the intervention of the DGA&T in addressing them at the appropriate forums.
According to those present, the DGA&T responded positively and assured the delegation that the current issues of the cadre will be taken up on priority with the competent authorities. He appeared optimistic and practical in his approach and committed to pushing for early resolution of all genuine demands without delay.
The meeting was described as cordial and constructive, with a shared vision of strengthening the accounts cadre through internal unity and administrative support.
This development marks a significant step toward streamlining the functioning of the JKAEA and ensuring that elections are held soon, restoring a fully representative leadership structure within the association.
