SRINAGAR, Oct 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Accounts Employees Association (JKAEA) on Saturday extended its gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary in the Office of the Chief Minister, Principal Secretary Finance, Director General Accounts and Treasuries (DGA&T), and the Directors of Accounts and Treasuries of Kashmir and Jammu for their concerted efforts in ensuring the timely promotion and adjustment of a significant number of Accountants and Assistant Accounts Officers (AAOs) ahead of the biannual Darbar Move.
In a statement, the Association termed the move as a “commendable and timely administrative decision” that would greatly help in maintaining the smooth functioning of financial operations across various departments. “The prompt action has filled a large number of vacant posts which otherwise could have hampered financial work and budget preparations in several government departments,” the JKAEA noted.
The Association emphasized that the timely promotions have provided a major boost to the morale of the employees in the Accounts cadre and have ensured continuity in the preparation and implementation of financial statements and budgetary documents. It said the step reflects the government’s proactive approach towards addressing long-pending service matters of its employees and strengthening institutional efficiency within the Finance Department.
“The Association sincerely thanks the Chief Minister and his team, particularly the Finance Department and the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, for their personal intervention and commitment in ensuring these promotions before the Darbar Move,” the statement added.
Reiterating its faith in the present administration, the JKAEA expressed hope that similar efforts would continue in the future to clear other pending proposals related to promotions, adjustments, and departmental upgradations. “We are confident that the government will continue to extend its support in resolving all pending issues concerning the Accounts employees in the near future,” the Association said.
