LEH, Aug 15: Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Syed Sajjad Qadri, presently serving as Director of Rural Development in the Union Territory of Ladakh, has been conferred with the prestigious HLG Award for Excellence in Public Administration in recognition of his outstanding performance and contribution to governance.
Qadri was the sole recipient of the award, which carries a cash reward along with a certificate of appreciation, recognising his exemplary administrative leadership and sustained efforts towards improving the functioning and performance of the departments under his charge.
The award is being seen as a significant recognition of Qadri’s contribution to public administration in Ladakh, where he has served for the past three years in several important capacities. During this period, he has held key positions, including Director of Education and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, besides his present assignment as Director of Rural Development.
Officials and stakeholders have widely appreciated his administrative approach, particularly his emphasis on improving institutional efficiency, strengthening implementation mechanisms and ensuring that government programmes deliver tangible outcomes on the ground.
