JAMMU,Nov 14 : Rubia Syed, an experienced and explosive batter from Jammu and Kashmir, has earned a spot in the prestigious Women’s T20 Challengers Trophy, scheduled to start on November 17, in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Selected for the India ‘A’ team, which will be led by Harleen Deol of Punjab, Rubia’s impressive performance in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy played a significant role in her selection.
During the league phase of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, Rubia emerged as the second-highest run-scorer in India, with standout performances including 93 off 51 balls against Mizoram and 78 off 58 balls against Tamil Nadu.
She also made valuable contributions with scores of 24 off 19 against Odisha, 17 off 18 against Mumbai, and 12 off 15 against Gujarat.
A seasoned player for J&K, Rubia has established herself as an exceptional middle-order batter with the ability to dominate any bowling attack.
Despite her achievements, Rubia is yet to secure a contract in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
