JKPCC vice-president Shahnawaz Choudhary appointed as Congress national secretary

Jammu, Jan 21 : The Congress has appointed Shahnawaz Choudhary as All India Congress Committee national secretary and incharge of the Odisha Congress unit.

Choudhary hails from Hari village of Poonch’s Surankote and is third J&K leader to be elevated to AICC position after Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ghulam Ahmed Mir.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he was appointed as the national secretary after Congress high command approval.

He started his political journey with Congress party as NSUI volunteer and served NSUI as National General Secretary. After his successful stint in NSUI, he served Indian Youth Congress as National General Secretary and later on contested election for the post of J&K Youth Congress president. He became first elected president of J&K Youth Congress.

Currently, he was serving the Congress party as vice-president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and is elected DDC Member from Surankote—(KNO)
