SRINAGAR, Jan 5: Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) National Convenor, Nasir Khuehami, on Monday held a comprehensive and wide-ranging meeting with renowned political strategist Prashant Kishor at his residence in New Delhi, focusing on issues concerning Kashmiri students, youth leadership, and the growing emergence of new voices from the region.
According to a statement issued by the association, the meeting witnessed an in-depth exchange of views on the challenges faced by students from Jammu and Kashmir across the country, the need for structured youth engagement, and the importance of nurturing informed, responsible, and visionary leadership among the younger generation of the Valley. The discussion also revolved around creating platforms that allow Kashmiri youth to articulate their aspirations, concerns, and ideas in a constructive and democratic manner.
During the interaction, both sides emphasised the crucial role of youth in shaping the future socio-political and economic landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting underscored the necessity of meaningful dialogue, mentorship, and exposure to national-level leadership and policy perspectives to empower students and young professionals from the region.
The statement further announced that Prashant Kishor is scheduled to visit the Kashmir Valley on February 2, 2026, where he will participate in a Youth Interaction Programme being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. He will attend the programme as the Chief Guest and is expected to engage in a direct, one-on-one interaction with students and youth leaders, offering insights into leadership, governance, public policy, and youth-driven change.
During his visit, which will extend from February 2 to February 5, Prashant Kishor is also likely to hold a series of meetings with young professionals, emerging youth leaders, and students from different parts of the Valley. These interactions aim to encourage dialogue, exchange ideas, and inspire the youth to play a proactive role in nation-building while addressing regional challenges through peaceful and democratic means.
The JKSA stated that the proposed programme and interactions are part of its broader initiative to provide Kashmiri youth with exposure to national thought leaders and create opportunities for learning, engagement, and leadership development.
