Srinagar, Jan 29 : Low speed 2G mobile Internet service was snapped in Pulwama district on late Friday evening after a gunfight broke out in Lelhar village of Kakapora belt of the district.
Sources said that the service was snapped “as a precautionary measure”.
Meanwhile, a gunfight between militants and government forces is underway at Lelhar village of Pulwama.
An official said that Joint forces cordoned off Lelhar village today evening after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants.
“As the forces approached the suspected house, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight,” he said.
He said two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Heavy exchange of fire was going on at the time of filing this report. (KDC)
