Srinagar, July 19 : The Kashmir Advocates Association (KAA) has revealed that the J&K High Court Bar Association (HCBA) Srinagar Chapter is an unregistered and unrecognized entity with no legal standing.
An order of which a copy lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, The KAA, a registered body recognized by the Bar Council of Jammu & Kashmir and the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, aims to inform the legal fraternity, media outlets, and the general public about the true legal status of the HCBA Srinagar.
Contrary to popular belief, the HCBA Srinagar is not affiliated with any legal framework and lacks recognition from competent authorities, as confirmed by the KAA. This exposes the illegitimacy and absence of legal sanctity associated with the HCBA Srinagar.
As per the order, the HCBA Srinagar is known for promoting secessionist ideology and supporting terrorism within the courts, actions that are not only illegal but also pose a risk to the peace and stability of the Union Territory, particularly in the Valley.
The KAA has brought to attention the misrepresentation of the HCBA Srinagar in media reports. It urges media outlets to refrain from using titles such as ‘Chairman of HCBA’, ‘Member of HCBA,’ or ‘Ex-President of HCBA’ while referring to members of the illegal association. Instead, the KAA suggests employing terms such as ‘members’ or ‘chairpersons’ of an illegal and self-styled association, highlighting the lack of legitimacy and legal foundation of the HCBA Srinagar.
The Kashmir Advocates Association firmly opposes any entity that disregards the rule of law and interferes with the judicial process. The KAA is committed to upholding principles of justice and legality in Jammu & Kashmir.
In light of this revelation, the KAA appeals to all media outlets to exercise caution and responsibility in their reporting. Accurate representation is vital to maintaining the integrity of the legal profession and the judicial system in the region.
