Kashmir Crown launches its News App, KC Trust, awards people for commendable work

Baramulla: Kashmir Crown – a fast growing multimedia cum digital venture- based in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday launched its News App and Kashmir Crown Trust at auditorium of Govt. Boys Degree College Baramulla in a bid to lead in web cum mobile based news networks and contribute in overall welfare of the society.


Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo was chief guest while as former MLA Baramulla Javid Hussan Beigh and former MLA Langate Engineer Rashid was guests of honor.

While welcoming the guest Editor in Chief Kashmir Crown Shahid Imran shared some inspiring stories about his carrier and termed the human interest stories as the best he has contributed in the journalistic field.

“We have many issues to cover as journalist. But when story has impact on a social life as whole it means lot and one feels satisfied with the job,” said Shahid Imran  and termed his journalism as journalism for change.

Speakers on this occasion highlighted the growing challenges of journalist in the digital arena and responsibilities towards the society.

Javid Hussan Beigh highlighted the challenges of media and its social responsibilities as social media has drastically impacted over the entire media scenario.

We have to take into consideration the impact of social media when we talk about social issues and media. Now everyone is journalist but need of the hour to train and aware people about the ethics journalism,’ asserted Er. Rashid while addressing the function.

“It is time more and more consuming news digitally, the future of journalism changed altogether. But journalists of the future will face a number of challenges also and we need to understand the responsibility in all circumstances,” said senior most journalist of North Kashmir Karamat Qayoom after receiving the award in recognition to his service in the field of journalism and social work. Kramat Qayoom is chairman Baramulla Working Journalist Association (BWJA), North Kashmir Journalist Association and patron Human Aid Society Kashmir.

People from different walks of life were awarded for their work in their respective field including Dr. Afaq Sherwani as best doctor, Reyaz Rabani, Mustafa Bin Jameel Is from Tulail who completed handwritten holy book of Quran in 11 months. Dr. Suhail Naik, Mangling Editor KC Ashiq Mir, video journalist Rizwan Mir and other team members of KC.

The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion include renowned writer, poet and critic Abdul Khaliq Parvaiz, senior trade union leader Mohmmad Rafiq Rather, Chairman Human Aid Society Bashir Ahmad Mir.
