Aiming to Foster Unity and Excellence
Srinagar, 12 Mar. ; In a landmark initiative to empower young women and promote sports as a tool for nation-building, the Kashmir Women’s Cricket Team today embarked on a cricket tour to Maharashtra under the aegis of the Chinar Corps and Aseem Foundation.
The 15-member squad, flagged off by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Chinar Corps at Badami Bagh, Srinagar, will play and learn from the Maharashtra Cricket Team, gaining invaluable exposure and honing their skills.
The tour, which includes matches at national-level facilities arranged by the Aseem Foundation in Pune, aims to provide the young cricketers with a platform to interact with experienced players and dignitaries. Additionally, the team will explore Mumbai, India’s financial capital, further broadening their horizons.
Sports have emerged as a powerful force in revitalizing the lives of Kashmiri youth, channeling their energy toward physical and mental well-being, fostering unity, and creating opportunities for personal and community growth. This initiative reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to engaging, uplifting, and empowering the women of Kashmir to excel in all facets of life, including sports.
