KD Impact: DC Baramulla reacts to the GDC Women Sopore Issue

Hours after the Kashmir Despatch carried a news item about the Government Degree College for Women in Sopore where they protested against the shortage of teachers in the college, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Sehrish Asgar reacted and said that action has been taken in the matter.


In an order, DC Baramulla said, It has been complained by the students of GDC for Women Sopore in social media that, due to the non-availability of teaching faculty in college, they are getting adversely affected. They have shown resentment against the college authorities for not paying any heed to this issue.


You are directed to take immediate and necessary action in the matter so that the concerns raised by the students of the college are put to rest. The order further reads: “Action taken in the matter be shared with this office. 

Earlier in the day, The students pointed out that the shortage of teachers at the college has been affecting their studies for the past year.
