Srinagar, Sep 09: Kashmir’s sole PET-CT scan machine, which was out of service for the past two weeks at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), is now functional, officials said.
An official at SKIMS told Kashmir Despatch that the PET Scan and MRI facilities are now functional at SKIMS.
The official said the general public was informed that due to a technical snag, the PET Scan and MRI facility had been halted. However, the technical issues have now been rectified, and the services have resumed.
Notably, Kashmir Despatch had reported this news a week earlier, when the non-functional nature of this machine had severely impacted patient care, leaving many cancer patients in the lurch.
