Banihal : Hours after Kashmir Despatch carried a news item regarding the stranded passengers on Jammu-Srinagar the traffic department modified the advisory for 11th January 2022 (Tuesday).
The traffic department has said that it will allow only LMVs passengers from Srinagar towards Jammu in view of narrow and slippery conditions of road at many places on Jammu-Srinagar NHW and shall be allowed from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) at 0900 hrs upto 1300 hrs.
The officials said that no buses will be allowed to ply on the road.
Earlier stranded passengers called this office and said that due to both way traffic today, there was a huge traffic jam leading to stranding of vehicles on NHW at many places creating problems for the passengers.
In an order issued this evening, it says that TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic and no vehicle shall be allowed before and after cut off timing.
The order further said that HMVs/Load Carriers will be allowed to ply subject to fair weather and better road conditions.
Only stranded vehicles in Udhampur jurisdiction shall be allowed towards Srinagar after assessing the traffic situation on NHW .
TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
The Mughal Road will remain closed for vehicular movement in view of snow accumulation at Peer Ki Gali by the order of Dy. Commissioner Shopian.
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road will remain closed for vehicular movement in view of snow accumulation on Zojila axis by the order of DIVCOM Ladakh (UT)
The officials said that no traffic movement shall be allowed on Kishtwar-Sinthan Road in view of snow accumulation.
People are advised to undertake journey on NHW-44 only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:-
