Apologizes to Dr Humaira Noor for mentioning her name
SRINAGAR, Mar 2: A report carried out by this newspaper titled “Doctor refuses treatment to patient at DH Baramulla” published on February 07, 2020 was based on the protest carried out by the family of a patient who levelled the allegations against the hospital staff.
Being the hard news, meaning no time for the reporters to dig deep and carry out the details about second side of the story; this newspaper published the report, prima facie against a doctor, who after thorough investigations conducted by this newspaper has been found not only efficient but without having any malaise or ill will against the protesting patient.
Pertinently, the content of our story mainly the part that was about the ‘protest by patient and her family against doctors’ was corroborated by the Principal Medical College Baramulla and the Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla who had on record informed about receiving the same complaint and had assured this newspaper of a thorough inquiry into the matter. The video of protests carried out by the patient and her family are still in possession of this newspaper.
It may be clarified that our reporters on ground have no axe to grind in filing stories on issues and problems which concern the general public. The above story was also carried out with the same spirit. There was no malafide intention or feeling of animosity against the doctor in question namely Dr Humaira Noor who has been found an upright professional and widely known for her ethical integrity.
After a thorough investigation conducted by this newspaper it has been found that the family of the said patient had protested against some unknown doctors of district hospital Baramulla with some ulterior motives which became a source of news for the scribes at that point of time.
As per the hospital and government medical college administration, Dr Humaira Noor is one of the finest gynaecologists working in the hospital and is giving her best in the patient care provided by the district hospital Baramulla. Our newspaper also has reached to the same conclusion after conducting interviews of many patients admitted in the hospital or who have been treated by Dr Noor. According to our respondents she is the most humble and patient friendly doctor available in the district.
It has also been found that Dr Noor does not visit or see patients at any private clinic in the district as has been the normal and routine practice of other doctors across the state. This newspaper deeply regret for carrying out the above mentioned story and deeply apologize if the report has hurt the sentiments and created a distorted image of the said doctor.
