PULWAMA, Aug 5: The Gram Rojgar Sevak (GRS), supporting staff of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), are up in arms for several months, demanding regularisation and hike in salary.
The aggrieved employees in Tral sub district of Pulwama told Kashmir Despatch that they have been demanding regularisation and hike in pay for a long time, but no step is being taken to redress the demands of employees.
One of the employees said that they play a vital role in Rural Development Department (RDD), which helped the MGNREGA scheme to touch heights.”
He said that the employees want hike in salary, regularisation, besides modification of subordinate service rules.
Mushtaq Ahmad Jan, President, Gram Rojgar Sevak, employees, Pulwama has said that they get meagre salary, and have been facing difficulties, as their grievances are not being redressed.
He said that they are not even able to feed their families, while they face hardships on daily basis, due to which employees are dismayed.
The employees have unanimously requested higher ups including LG and Commissioner Secretary to look into the matter, and demanded that their genuine demands must be fulfilled at the earliest.
