Srinagar, Feb 5, : Khalida Shah, the daughter of late Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah has written a long letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter covers the matters of grave concern for the people of Jammu and Kashmir starting from the Conditional Instrument of Accession, abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, the truth behind the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and a sustained campaign to portray Kashmiri Muslims as villains throughout the world.
Furthermore, pointing out a similarity between the massacre of 300,000 Jammu Muslims in 1947 and demographic change in progress since Jammu and Kashmir has been divided unconstitutionally and illegally into two union territories.
The letter according to news agency reads that Indian government is trying to erase the history of Kashmir. It states that Kashmiris fear the removal of the special status will likely open the door for demographic changes in the Muslim-majority region, as outsiders can now buy land and settle in Valley. Angry at India’s recent actions in Kashmir, my family “became enemies with people for siding with India”.
“I want to tell India they cannot erase the legacy of my father from Kashmir as everyone remembers him here. History can never be erased.”
“Your Home Minister misled the Parliament on Article 370. It was Nehru, Patel, Gopalswami Ayengar and Shyma Prasad Mookerji and top legal luminaries who were the architects of Article 370 along with Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and Party to the decision of taking the Kashmir matter to United Nations. The truth is that BJP and RSS are hell bent upon changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir and the drama of abrogation of Article 370 and 35A is a step towards that goal conceived by the erstwhile Jana-Sangh, now the RSS.”
The decision of your government to gag people of Kashmir on and offline has devastating effects on both business and people in general. What is being fed to the nation and the international community through your hired print and electronic media is shocking and far from the truth. (KNT)
