Kokernag man who was assaulted by miscreants in Himachal Pradesh succumb

Srinagar: A young man from Kokernag, who was assaulted by miscreants in Himachal Pradesh succumbed to his injuries.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a young man identified as Fayaz Ahmad Hajam, was brutally assaulted and wounded by some miscreants in Rohru road Shimla Shimla City of Himachal Pradesh on 18th June 2020.

Fayaz, a resident of Zalangam Kokernag, was hospitalized and was being treated at Indra Gandhi Medical College but succumbed to his injuries in 30th of last month. Fayaz was a driver and was working in the city from last two years.

Meanwhile, family have said they have registered a complaint with Shimla Police but accused aren’t being arrested despite the fact they have named them in the complaint. They demand justice and seek intervention of LG GC Murmu and DGP J&K.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shimla Ompati Jamwal told Kashmir Despatch that matter has been reported with us. Though, it is not a Shimla city matter, that is why it is taking time. We found him in injured condition on Rohru and he was shifted to hospital. However, he died.

“The DSP had asked deceased brother to file a statement. However, his brother said that they will first take the body and then they will come back and file the statement. And, now we ask anyone to come forward and file a complaint”, he said.

On being asked that the deceased family has filed the complaint. The SP denied such thing and said that no complaint has been filed. However, SP said that he will assure action against the culprits once the complaint is lodged.
