KPDCL braces for post-snow power restoration amid inclement weather forecast

Srinagar, Feb 03 : As the latest bout of inclement weather approaches certain districts of Kashmir Division, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) is intensifying its efforts to prepare for post-snow power supply restoration and the repair of potential faults and disruptions.

With snowfall predicted in the Valley, KPDCL is issuing a clarion call to its workforce and urging citizens to cooperate in ensuring swift recovery from any disruptions.

The Managing Director of KPDCL, in a fresh directive, emphasized the importance of readiness in the face of adverse weather conditions.

“In view of wet weather prediction and snowfall reported from certain districts of Kashmir Division, all Superintending Engineers, O&M Circles, KPDCL, are hereby directed to maintain close liaison with the Executive Engineers of 19 Electric Divisions/SSD Tangmarg, for post-snow measures for restoration of power supply/ repair of faults,” stated the order of Managing Director.

The directive further outlined specific measures to be undertaken by field staff to ensure safe and effective restoration efforts.

Teams are instructed to equip themselves with essential safety gear such as gloves, helmets, harness belts, and shoes before embarking on any restoration works.

This proactive approach aims to minimize risks and prioritize the well-being of personnel involved in the restoration process.

Additionally, top officials at various levels within KPDCL are instructed to remain stationed at their respective headquarters to oversee the post-snow restoration measures diligently.

This strategic deployment is crucial in coordinating efforts across different subdivisions and ensuring a swift response to any power supply disruptions caused by the adverse weather conditions.

While KPDCL is gearing up for the challenges posed by the impending snowfall, they are also urging the public to play their part in facilitating the restoration process. Cooperation from citizens is essential in navigating through any potential disruptions smoothly.

“By adhering to safety guidelines and promptly reporting any issues, residents can contribute to the efficient restoration of power supply in their communities”.
The preparedness demonstrated by KPDCL underscores their commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power supply, even in the face of adverse weather conditions.

“Through proactive planning, coordination, and public cooperation, KPDCL aims to mitigate the impact of inclement weather on essential services and uphold their mandate of delivering reliable electricity to the people of Kashmir Division and with a collaborative effort between the utility provider and the community, the adverse effects of inclement weather on power supply can be effectively mitigated, ensuring resilience and reliability in the face of nature’s challenges”.
