Baramulla, August 18: 26 hours gunfight on as forces blasted hideout in Kreeri area of Baramulla in north Kashmir.
An official informed Kashmir Despatch that Army’s counterinsurgency force, SOG and CRPF are locked in an 26 hour long gunbattle at Kreeri Baramulla.
He said the fresh firing was resumed in the wee hours of Tuesday, however no reports about any fresh militant casualty so far, officials added.
Earleir in the day another army soldier succumbed to his injures at a military hospital, taking the casualties sofar in the gunfight to 4 including two militants and two soldiers.
Pertinently, The encounter broke out hours after militants on Monday morning attacked a security forces party at Kreeri which resulting into death of two CRPF personnel and one SPO (Special police official) while they were on their regular duty in the town.
