Srinagar, Mar 11 : Kashmir University in a bizarre move has ordered re-examination of various subjects for its undergraduate 6th semester batch 2017, which completed their final examination a month back.

University has ordered re-examination citing that the papers they had put for these subjects were out of syllabus contradicting the students who acknowledge that papers were strictly according to syllabus.

Few of the students wishing anonymity said that it seems the university has ordered re-examination in favour of some vested interests.

“They have put us in a state of distress as our three year graduation has already taken four plus years and they have again delayed it by a month”, they added.

The university has ordered re-examination for subjects which include Sericulture, Sericulture Integration for Sericulture with Poultry and Fisheries, Harmonium-III, Harmonium-IV, Persian Skill-IV and Probability and Statistics from 16th of March 2021.

The students have demanded a detailed inquiry into this matter and it should be made clear on whose directions the university has ordered re-examination. If students have got no issues with the papers held and university should consider already taken papers.

“Everything was within the syllabus, not even a single question was out of syllabus”, said Haazik (name changed) who appeared in the exams with Sericulture being one of his subjects.

Controller of Exams Kashmir University, Irshad Nawachoo could not be contacted for his comments, as he didn’t respond to repeated calls from this agency.

Students have demanded the intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha who is also the Chancellor of the Kashmir University. (KDC)
