Kulgam Gunfight : 2 militants killed, operation on

Kulgam, Oct 10 : Two militants have been killed in an overnight encounter in Chinigam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that two militants have been killed, however the identity is yet to be ascertained as gunfight is still underway. He said operation was resumed early morning after suspended for night due to darkness.

Earlier on Friday late evening, a joint team of army’s
01 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Chinigam Kulgam.

The officer said as soon as searching party encircled the target house, the hidding militants fired upon them thus triggering a gunfight.
