Kulgam, May 07 : Top TRF terrorist commander among two terrorists have been killed in a gunfight at Redwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
Inspector General of Police V.K Birdi told news agency Kashmir Scroll that one of the terrorist has been identified as top TRF commander Basit Dar from Kulgam while the identity of the other terrorist is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, a joint team of Police and Army launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of terrorist movement.
As the joint team of forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired on the team, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight. The operation was, however, halted for the night, and fresh firing resumed today morning. (KS)
