Kupwara : 4 drug peddlers held

Kupwara : Police in Kupwara district while continuing its action against the menace of drugs, arrested four more persons dealing with illegal drugs in the district.

Police spokesman told Kashmir Despatch that acting on a specific information,  a Police team led by Incharge Police Post Hatmulla arrested two drugs peddlers Bilal Ahmad Mir nicknamed Tiger  son of Abdul Gani Mir , a resident of Mughalpora and Aijaz Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Sultan Wani resident of Karihama at Gushi Near check-post  when the duo was on way to sell the narcotics illegally among vulnerable youth in the area.

Charas like substance weighing about 200 grams was recovered from their possession and subsequently FIR No. 132/2022 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act  registered at Police Station Kupwara.

He said in another action of similar nature at Bohipora Kupwara, two persons namely Bilal Ahmad Khan son of  Mohd Anwar Khan resident of Wadipora Handwara and Nissar Ahmad Khan son of Anayatullaha Khan *@ Nis Khan*  resident of Shartpora Hyama  were apprehended  along with brown sugar like contraband  substance from their possession.

Case FIR  No. 133/2022 under section 8/21,29 NDPS Act has been registered  against the duo and investigation  taken up.
