Srinagar: As part of the month long deliberations on MISSION LIFE (Life style on environment) aligned with theme of World Environment day-2024 KVK Srinagar organised a marathon of awareness cum Hackathon of events in convergence with COTS, Mirgund, educational institutions Deptt of Sericulture, FPOs to enhance and promote Skill Entrepreneurship on utlisation of agricultural waste viz silk cocoon waste, bread crafts, disposable plastic craft among the higher Secondary girl students under the banner “WASTE to WEALTH”.
The ultimate aim of the event was to create awareness and encourage action on Climate change, Deforestation, Desertifcation, pollution, single use plastic.
On the occasion, plantation drive drive was kicked off at GHSS Chanpora by Director Extensions SKUAST-K Prof.D M Makhdoomi under the banner WASTE to WEALTH. Celebrations culminated with plantation drive of MAP by the Kendra at GHSS Chanpora to highlight the essence of developing Herbal Garden among the school children.
