L-S Polls : DEO Udhampur reviews preparedness for Lok Sabha Elections

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 14: District Election Officer (DEO), Udhampur, Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting at Conference Hall, DC Office Complex here to assess and enhance the preparedness for upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the district.


Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), and other key officers attended the meeting which focused on crucial aspects of the election process aimed at ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral exercise.


DEO conducted an in-depth discussion with AROs, designated Nodal Officers, Zonal and Sectoral officers, emphasizing the importance of logistical readiness, manpower management and transportation arrangements, including the deployment and dispatch of polling staff and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).


Highlighting the significance of effective coordination among stakeholders, DEO urged all officers to ensure the availability of necessary facilities at polling stations and distribution/collection centers. She underscored the need for optimal utilization of resources to execute an efficient election management plan.


Furthermore, DEO emphasized the provision of Adequate Minimum Facilities (AMF) at all polling booths and instructed officers to adhere to guidelines of Election Commission of India. She urged AROs to conduct thorough inspections of Distribution/Collection Centers to ensure compliance with electoral protocols and guidelines.


DEO urged all designated Nodal Officers to fulfill their tasks promptly, maintain cooperation with relevant departments, and familiarize themselves with ECI guidelines for a successful electoral process.
