Lack of Pediatrician in North Kashmir’s pattan hospital, haunts attendants

Srinagar 8 June : Trauma hospital Pattan which has been converted into maternity hospital for providing better health care to mother and newborn infants, unfortunately after the transfer of Child specialist Dr Suhail Naik hospital is still without pediatrician.

Pregnent ladies from several medical blocks of Baramulla are reffered to Trauma hospital for parturition, while new born babies having any minor problem they were refer to G.B Pant Hospital for treatment.

“Patients are coming from far-flung areas for treatment.”If Hospital has been converted into MCH then here should be wholly facilities for both Mother and newborn”, said an attendant Gulzar Ahmad.

Locals told KNS that Govt should depute few pediatricians of Sopore and Tangmarg block to trauma hospital, so that new born will not suffer.

When KNS bureau chief Mohammad Lateef contacted to Financial commissioner health and medical education Atal Dulloo”, he said that speedily peadritician will be depute in Trauma hospital Pattan(KNS)
