Handwara, August 20: Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Thursday said slain Naseer-ud-Din was an excellent shooter.
DGP in a press conference said that slain Lashkar-e-Toiba militant commander was a sharpshooter. He killed three CRPF personnel with sharp and precise targets.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone who was also present of the occasion said, Police are working for peace and tranquility in the society so people should view our operations in that prism. ‘Police will not harass the families of militants and we respect their families,’ IGP Kashmir said.
Pertinently police on late Wednesday said two militants were killed in brief exchange of gunfire at Handwara who were identified as Naseeruddin a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant commander and his associate a Pakistani militant Danish.
Naseer as per police was involved in the killing of three CRPF men at Sopore on 18/4/2020 and also was behind the killing of three CRPF personnel who were killed in Handwara attack on 04/05/2020.
Police in a tweet on Thursday said that an AK-47 rifle which was snatched by militants from paramilitary CRPF personnel at Vangam Handwara on May 4 this year has been recovered from the possession of LeT commander Naseer-u-din Lone.
