Srinagar, Aug 20 : Asserting that J&K’s cultural harmony has ensured peaceful co-existence of people of every community and religion in the Union Territory (UT), Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday asked government officials to reaffirm their commitment to promote harmony and peace in the society.
Sinha made these remarks after administering pledge to officials of LG’s Secretariat on the occasion of ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’. “J&K’s cultural harmony has ensured the peaceful co-existence of people of every community and religion. Let us all reaffirm our commitment to promote harmony & peace in the society,” Sinha wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Meanwhile, J&K Police observes Sadbhavana Diwas across Kashmir valley. “The main function of Sadbhavana Diwas was held at Police Headquarters Srinagar,” a police official said.
He said Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Headquarters M K Sinha administered the Sadbhavna pledge to officers and personnel. Sadbhavan pledge ceremonies was also held at all Police Unit Headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir.
“Shopian Police today observed Sadbhavana Diwas. While observing this event, a pledge was taken by the Police Officers/Jawans. The pledge was administered by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian that we all together will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all people,” he said.
He said District Police Ganderbal observed Sadbhavana Diwas at District Police Lines, Ganderbal. “Senior Police officers administered the Sadbhavana pledge to the participating officials,” he added.
Sadbhavana Diwas was also observed by Bandipora police. Officers and jawans took pledge to work for emotional ones of all people of India, regardless differences in caste, colour, religion, region and language .Similar, functions were held across Kashmir valley.
